Metal transfer test

Holy the transfers on metal turned out much better then I had predicted!!  The color looks awesome, I am so excited and motivated to create some new work and hang it on metal sheets.

Draw Prize

I have decided to have a draw prize. Starts today and ends Oct. 15th. To enter, you have to take a picture of a canvas, made by me, that you have hanging in your home. I so rarely get to see the finished pieces hanging on peoples walls. On the closing date I will draw a name and the winner will win a 16x20 canvas of their choice or a $125 credit towards a larger canvas or a commission piece. Great for that bare wall in your home or a perfect gift for someone else.

Ok everyone, I have an idea for those people that want to enter the contest BUT DON'T own a canvas from me already. All you have to do to enter is take a picture of the bare wall space you would like to fill. And you are in the draw for a 16x20 of your choice or $125 towards a larger canvas or commission piece.

I was asked to create this piece as a gift for a birthday present.  Arbutus trees are a fond memory of his childhood,where everywhere you walk you are surrounded by these peeling, twisting branches.  A sight that I can imagine with a feeling of magic.  I was lucky to be able to take my family on hikes, up to Comox lake, in search of an Arbutus tree.   Out of these walks, I created my first triptych.  The trunk representing the peeling bark of the arbutsus tree, the top showing the the colorful leaves, and the winding branch.  It was a fun and challenging progject.

Raw Element Guest House Design

This was a commissioned logo and sign done for a Guest house.  I photographed the birds and the tree as asked for by the client and then on the computer added the type.  Here is a photograph of the transfer onto canvas.
